CHAP. 58.

proportions, by Baltimore county and Baltimore city, and
til other necessary expenses incurred by the said visitors,
shall be paid by Baltimore county and Baltimore city, in the
proportions properly chargeable to the said county and
city respectively, having regard to the number of prison-
ers and the expense of keeping the same, which shall hare
been sent from the county and from the city.

Sec.. 15. And be it enacted, That the said visitors shall
annually make out a full and fair account of all the public
money by them received from the commissioners of Balti-
more county, and from any other sources for the use of Bal-
timore county, and the manner in which it has been expend-
ed; which shall be exhibited to said commissioners, together
with an estimate of what will be necessary for the follows

and levied by the said county commissioners, and collected
as other county charges, and paid to the said visitors for the
use of said prison.

Do. of city monies.

Sec. 16. And be it enacted. That the said visitors shall
annually make out a full statement of all the public money
received by them from the register of the city of Baltimore,
or from any other source for the use of the city of Balti-
more, and the manner in which it has been expended; which
statement shall be laid before the mayor and city council of
Baltimore, together with an estimate of what will be neces-
sary for the following year, the amount of which estimate
shall be levied on the property )n the city of Baltimore,
and paid to the visitors of the jail.

Monies heretofore
levied

Sec. 17. And be it enacted, That the said visitors shall
have authority to receive from the register of the city of
Baltimore, and from the commissioners of Baltimore county,
all monies heretofore levied for the use of the late board of
visitors and governors of the jail of Baltimore county, and
that they shall pay all legal claims against the said board of
visitors and governors of the jail, and that the warden to be
appointed under this law, shall have authority to collect all
debts due to the warden under the existing law.

Levy for current
year.

Sec. 18. And be it enacted, That in the next levy to be
made by the commissioners of Baltimore county, in addi-
tion to the amount which shall be estimated by the visitors
as necessary for the ensuing year, the said commissioners
shall also levy the amount of expenses of the jail for the
current year, which is properly chargeable to Baltimore
county, as the same shall be certified by the visitors afore-
said.

Sec. 19. And, be it enacted, That the present visitors and
