CHAPTER 55.

CHAP, 36.

An act to authorise the Levy Court of Saint Mary's county ,
to levy a sum of money, to build a Court House and Offi-
ces, for the said county.

Passed Feb. 17, 1833

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That from and after the passage of this act, the
judges of the levy court of Saint Mary's county, be, and
they are hereby authorised and directed, in their discretion,
to levy upon the assessable property thereof, a sum of mo.
ney not exceeding nine thousand dollars, for the erection of
a fire proof court house, and such offices as they may deem
necessary, for the security of the records and public docu-
ments of said county.

Sect. 2. And be it enacted. That the judges of the said
levy court shall not levy more than three thousand, nor less
than fifteen hundred dollars, in any one year, but are hereby
authorised to levy, annually, any sum not exceeding the fore-
going limits, that they, in their judgment, may deem best,
until the sum of nine thousand dollars shall have been levied
and collected.

Limitation.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the said levy court are
hereby authorised and required to appropriate and disburse
at such times, and in such sums, as may be best calculated
to meet the engagements of the commissioners, by them ap-
pointed to contract for the building of the said court house
and offices, the aforesaid sum of nine thousand dollars, or
so much thereof as the court house and offices aforesaid
may cost.

CHAPTER 56.

 

An act to authorize and empower the Commissioners of Bal-
timore county court, to levy a sum of money, and rebuild a
Oridge over Herring Run, on the road leading from Bal-
timore to Belle-Air, on what is called the Belle-Air Road

Passed Feb.17, 1832

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly oj Ma-
ryland, That the commissioners of Baltimore county, be,
and they are hereby authorised and required, at their dis-
cretion, to levy on the assessable property of said county a
sum of money sufficient for rebuilding a bridge over Herring
Run, on the road leading from Baltimore to Belle-Air, on
what is called the Belle- Air Road.
