be as follows: for every white passenger landed or taken
off from any sloop, boat, packet or other vessel coming
within the works of the said company, a sum not exceeding
twenty-five cents; for any coloured passenger, a sum not ex-
ceeding twelve and a half cents; for every coach, coachee,
or charriot, a sum not exceeding one dollar, for all other
four wheel carriages of any description, a sum not exceed-
ing fifty cents; for every two wheel carnage, a sum not ex-
ceeding thirty-seven and a half cents; for every horse, mare,
or gelding, a sum not exceeding one dollar, for every bull,
steer, or cow, a sum not exceeding fifty cents; for every
grown sheep, a sum not exceeding twelve and a half cents;
for every lamb, a sum not exceeding six and a quarter
cents; for every hogshead, or pipe containing ardent spirits,
or wine, a sum not exceeding one dollar; for every hogs-
head or pipe containing beer, cider, or any other articles, a
sum not exceeding fifty cents; for every barrel containing
wine, or ardent spirits, a sum not exceeding thirty-seven and
a half cents; for every barrell containing beer, cider, or any
other articles, a sum not exceeding fifteen cents; for every
bushel of wheat, clover seed, or other seeds, a sum not ex-
ceeding one cent; for every bushel of Indian corn, rye, or
oats, or salt, a sum not exceeding a half cent; and for all
other articles, and also for the articles before mentioned, in
lesser quantities, the president and directors, or a majority
of them, shall have power and authority to fix and establish
a reasonable rate of toll, and the president and directors
shall have power and authority from time to time, to lessen
the rates of toll in their discretion, so that the stockholders
shall receive a fair compensation on their stock.

Sec. 13. And be it enacted. That the stockholders in the
said company, holding to the amount of one sixth of the
said stock, shall have the power to call at any time a meet-
ing of the stockholders, to be held at Queens town, and to
assign a day of meeting by an advertisement for three suc-
cessive weeks, in one newspaper published in Baltimore,
and one published at Centreville, and the stockholders who
meet shall have power to examine the president and direct-
