ore, or any other persons on oath touching the concerns of
the said company, and shall have the power to possess them-
selves of the money, books, papers, and muniments of the
said company, and may appoint a new board of directors
who shall appoint a new president, and may make any other
regulations, not exceeding the powers vested in the said
company by this act.

CHAPTER 213.

 

A further additional supplement to an act, entitled, An act
for the revaluation and reassessment of the real and per-
sonal estate in Caroline county, in this State, passed the
present session.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the act entitled, A further additional supple-
ment to an act, entitled, An act for the revaluation and re-
assessment of the real and personal property within this
State, so far as the same relates to Caroline county, passed
at December session, eighteen hundred and twelve, chapter
one hundred and ninety-one, passed at the present session,
shall be, and is hereby suspended in its operation until the
first Monday in April, eighteen hundred and thirty-three,

except as far as relates to the commissioners of the tax
therein appointed, and the appointment of assessors by them
therein authorised.

Except.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the assessors to be appoint-
ed by the commissioners of the tax, under the act to which
this is a supplement, shall make their return to the commis-
sioners of the tax on the first Monday in April, eighteen
hundred and thirty-three; and shall be by them then receiv-
ed and acted on, under the provisions of the act to which
this is a supplement.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That when the commissioners
of the tax, at their first meeting, under the act to which this
is a supplement, shall have performed the duty of appoint-
ing assessors, as therein authorised and required, they shall
then proceed in the ordinary duties of their offices, in the
same manner, and under the same laws, as they would have
done if the act to which this is a supplement had never pass-
ed, until the first Monday of April, eighteen hundred and
thirty-three, at which time the act to which this is a sup-
plement, shall be in full force for all future proceedings of
the said commissioners.
