CHAPTER 14.

Passed Jan 6, 1843

An act for the benefit of Reuben Worthington, of Allegany
county.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, by an act passed at December session, eighteen
hundred and twenty two, chapter one hundred and twenty
eight, it was provided by the third section thereof, that all
certificates of surveys of lands made in Allegany county, af-
ter the passage of said act, and returned to the land office
of the western shore, should be compounded on within
twelve months from the date of such certificate of survey,
or become null and void, and the lands therein contained be
liable to be again taken up as other vacant land in said coun-
ty; And whereas, it is represented to this General Assembly,
that Reuben Worthington, of Allegany county, has returned
to the land office a certificate called Worthington's Coal
Banks, which should have been compounded on, on or be-
fore the twenty eighth day of December, eighteen hundred
and thirty one, but the money sent on by him not having
been received in time; and to have another survey made
would be attended with considerable expense to the said
Worthington; Therefore,

Time allowed to
compound.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
Reuben Worthington, of Allegany county, be, and he is
hereby allowed further time to compound on his certificate

Proviso.

of survey called Worthington's Coal Banks; Provided, he
shall compound on the same, on or before the first day of
February, eighteen hundred and thirty two, any law to the
contrary notwithstanding; Provided nevertheless, that rights
acquired in the said land by other persons since the issuing
of said warrant, shall not be affected by any thing in this act.

 

CHAPTER 15.

Passed Jan. 7, 1832.

An act supplementary to the act, entitled, An act for the des-
patch of business in Baltimore county court.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, by the act to which this is supplementary, it
is provided that all cases and points reserved at trials in
