1831.

Baltimore county court, and all demurrers and motions in
arrest of judgment, or for new trials, and issues at law,
shall be determined only by all or a majority of the judges
of said court; And whereas, from sickness of judges, and
their inability from other causes, to sit in the said court
much inconvenience has arisen from the operation of said
provision, and may hereafter "arise — Therefore,

CHAP. 17.

Section I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That from and after the passage of this act, all ca-
ses and points reserved at trials in Baltimore county court,
and all demurrers and motions in arrest of judgment, or for
new trials, and issues at law, in said court, may be argued
or submitted in said court before, and determined by, any
one judge of said court.
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That all parts of the act to
which this is supplementary, inconsistent with the provis-
ions of this act, be and the same are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 16.

 

An act extending the time for taking the Bond of the Sheriff
of Somerset county.

Passed Jan. 6, 1832.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
it shall and may be lawful for the judges of the orphans'
court of Somerset county, or any two of them, either in or
out of court to take and approve of the sheriff's bond of
said county at any time before the first day of March next;
and the said bond, when so taken and approved of, shall
have the samp force, effect and operation, to all intents and
purposes, as if the same had been so taken and approved
of within the time limited by law, any act to the contrary
notwithstanding.

Time extended.

An additional supplement to the act, entitled, An act to incor-
porate a Company for erecting a Bridge over Choptank
river, at or near Dover Ferry.

Passed Jan. 14, 1832

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assembly,
by the petition of sundry of the stockholders, that from
the dispersed situation of the stockholders, and their small
number, it is extremely difficult to get nine Directors to
