CHAP. 93,

Thomas Matthews, whether acquired by the said Thomas
prior to, or to be acquired by him after the passage of this
act.

Guardianship
of children

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the said Ann Matthews
shall forever hereafter have the custody and guardianship
of her two infant daughters.

May assume
maiden name

Sec 4. And be it enacted, That the said Ann Mat-
thews may, and she is hereby authorised to re-assume and
use her maiden surname.

Liability an-
nulled

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That the said Thomas Matr
thews shall not be liable for any debt to be hereafter con-
tracted by the said Ann.

 
 

CHAPTER 93.

Passed Feb 14.

A Supplement to on act, entitled, An act to incorporate
the Trustees of The Maria Marthian Society of Bal-
timore, passed at December session 1828, chapter
154.

Style changed

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the name and style of the society incorporated by the
act to which this is a supplement, shall be and the same is
hereby changed and altered to The Charitable Relief So-
ciety of Baltimore, by which name and style the said so-
ciety shall hereaiter be known, and shall and may exercise
all the corporate powers, rights and privileges, granted to or
vested in the said society by its original name and style, by
the act to which this is a supplement, and enjoy, hold and
use, all the' property, estate and effects, acquired and now
owned by said corporation; and the trusteesof the said Maria
Marthian Society now in office, shall be entitled to exer-
cise and enjoy all the powers and privileges heretofore
vested in them, and the said corporation shall be answera-
ble for all just claims, in the same manner, and as fully to
all intents and purposes, as if the name and style thereof
had not been changed or altered by this act.
