George's county, be and they are hereby appointed com-
missioners to divide said election districts of the county
aforesaid into convenient school districts.
Sec. 2. And he it enacted, That it shall be the duty
of the commissioners aforesaid, or the major part of them,
to assemble in their respective election districts at some
convenient place on or before the first Monday in August
next, and proceed to divide their respective election dis-
tricts into a suitable and convenient number of school dis-
tricts, having reference to the roads, creeks, and so forth,
as their boundaries; and it shall be the further duty of the
commissioners aforesaid immediately after the formation of
said school districts in their respective election districts, to
describe and number the same, and to deliver the descrip-
tion and nun her thereof, in writing, to the register of
wills of said county, who is hereby required to receive and
record the same in his office without fee or reward.

tricts to be laid
off.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted. That it shall be the duty of
the commissioners aforesaid, or a majority of them, to meet
on the first Monday in December next in the town of Up-
per Maryborough, in said county, and report to the next
general assembly of Maryland the number of school dis-
tricts in their respective election districts, with a descrip-
tion of the same, and the probable cost of building a school
house in each school district, the house to be not more than
eighteen by twenty feet, of plain and substantial materials,
together with the cost, of the site of each, which report shall
fee signed by the commissioners, or a majority of them.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted. That if a vacancy or vacancies
shall occur in either or all of the said election districts in the
number of the commissioners aforesaid, the remaining com-
missioner or commissioners, as the case may be, shall at
their next meeting; fill such vacancy or vacancies.

Vacancies,

Sec 5. And be it enacted, That each of the commis-
sioners for every days attendance in virtue of this act. shall
receive two dollars; Provided, the number of days shall
not exceed five days for any one commissioner, and the
levy court of said county are herehy authorised and requir-
ed to levy the same on the assessable property of said coun-
ty, which sum shall be collected and paid to each and every
commissioner as other county charges are levied and col-
lected.
