tions forever thereafter, any law to the contrary notwith-
standing.

May borrow
money.
|
Sec. 13. And be it enacted, That the commissioners
aforesaid shall have power and authority to borrow money,
in anticipation of the money to be raised by county levies,
from any individuals or corporate bodies who may be wil-
ling to lend the same, for the purpose of paying witnesses
summoned on behalf of the state of Maryland, and which
money so borrowed shall be paid, with interest thereon,
not exceeding six per cent, per annum, by a draft or drafts
on the collector for Talbot county.

Payment of
witnesses.
|
Sec 14. And be it enacted, That no witnesses sum-
moned in behalf of the state shall be paid, but such as are
entitled to be paid by law, and who shall receive a certifi-
cate from the clerk of Talbot county to that effect.

An Act to authorise Commissioners to divide Prince-
George's County into School Districts.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Richard Duvall, Benjamin H. Beckett,
and Henry Culver, of the first election district, Zachanah
Berry, Jr. Cephas W Benson, and Christopher C. Hyatt,
of the second election district, Benjamin E. Gantt, Zadock
Sassar, and Charles Bowie, of the third election district,
Henry M'Pherson, Thomas N. Baden, and Benjamin
Skinner, of the fourth election district, George H. Lan-
ham, George G. Coe, and Sylvester Boone, of the fifth
election district, Benjamin Duvall, junior, Levin Soper,
and Alfred Tolson, of the sixth election district of Prince-

Clerk to give
certificate

Sec, 15. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty
of the clerk of the county court for Talbot county, upon
the application of such witness or witnesses entitled to re-
ceive payment from Talbot county, to give such witness
or witnesses such certificate as aforesaid.

Loans, how to
be paid.
|
Sec. 16. And be it enacted, That all loans made upon
the above authority shall be paid out of the first money
which may come into the hands of the aforesaid collector
not otherwise appropriated.

Repeal.
|
Sec. 17. And be it enacted, That from and after the
first Monday of October eighteen hundred and thirty-one,
all laws contrary or inconsistent with this act, shall cease
to operate.
