their decision, and the amount of expense ascertained as
aforesaid; and the commissioners aforesaid may in their
discretion proceed to levy the same on the assessable pro-
perty of the county, either at one or two levies, as they
shall think best suited to the circumstances of the county.

CHAP. 154.

Sec 2. And be it enacted. That the supervisors to be
appointed as aforesaid, or a majority of them, shall, as soon
as may be conveniently practicable, contract for repairing
the said bridge, or for erecting a new one, as the case may
require, the expense of such repair or erection to be paid
out of the money to be levied as aforesaid, when the same
shall be received, and the person or persons who shall con-
tract to make such repair or erection, shall give bond to the
state of Maryland in such penalty, and with such sureties,
as a majority of the said supervisors shall approve, condi-
tioned for the full and faithful performance of such con-
tract.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That each of the said super-
visors shall be entitled to receive two dollars per day for
every clay which they shall necessarily be employed in the
duties hereby required, to be certified by them under oath,
which shall be levied, collected and paid over, as other
county charges are.

A Supplement to an act to enlarge the Bounds of Cen-
treville, and for other purposes*

Passed Feb 14.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the town of Centreville, in Queen- Anne's
county, is hereby incorporated, and the inhabitants thereof
constituted a body politic and corporate, by the name and
style of The Commissioners of Centreville, and as such
shall have perpetual succession, and by their corporate
name may sue and he sued, implead and be impleaded.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners,
or a majority of them, shall have full power and authority
to take bond, with security, from any bailiff hereafter to be
appointed by them, for the due and faithful performance of
the duties required of him by any act of assembly, or by
