DANIEL MARTIN, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That any receipt, acquitance,
or final discharge, which shall be executed before the said
court, by the said Mary B. Godwin, for such balance as
may appear on said final account, shall have full force and
effect; Provided, the said court shall first be satisfied, she
has attained the age of sixteen years, any law to the Con-
trary notwithstanding.

CHAPTER 19.

 
 

An Act authorising Cornelia A. Howard, Guardian of
John E. Howard, of the City of Baltimore, to lease
certain Property therein mentioned.

Passed Jan. 27

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Cornelia A. Howard, guardian of John
Eager Howard, an infant, be and she is hereby empower-
ed, to make leases for the benefit of said infant of any
lands, lying within the city of Baltimore, to which he is
entitled under the will of the late Colonel John Eager How-
ard, for any terms not exceeding the said infant's minori-

ty, or being under the age of twenty-one years; Provided
always, that all such leases to exceed the period of three
years, shall receive the approbation of the orphans court of
Baltimore county, before the same shall be of any force to
bind the property for such excess; And provided also,
that nothing in this act contained shall be construed to bind
or in any manner affect, the interest of the executory devi-
sees or other person or persons interested in the estate, in
the event of the death of the said infant, before his attain-
ing to the age of twenty-one years.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of
the said guardian, and she is hereby required, to make re-
turn to the orphans court of Baltimore county, of the rents,
issues and profits, arising from the property of the ward,
which she is authorised by the provisions of this act to
lease, and to account for the same in the same manner as
she is now bound by law to account for the personal estate
of said ward.
