DANIEL MARTIN ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.
Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That in case of vacancy by
death, or otherwise, happening among said trustees, the re-
maining trustees shall within thirty days thereafter call a
meeting of the patrons of said school for the time being, '
who sha'l proceed to elect by ballot, from among them-
selves, a person to fill such vacancy.

CHAP. 135.
Vacancies.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted. That the said trustees, and
their successors, duly appointed, shall be capable in law and
in equity to sue and be sued, to plead and be impleaded,
in any court of justice of this state, or before a justice of
the peace in case the matter in controversy shall be within
the jurisdiction of justices of the peace, and that the said
trustees shall have full power to ordain and establish such
rules and by-laws for the government of said school as
they, or a majority of them, shall deem proper, which
rules and by-laws shall he binding on the said school, and
on all persons concerned in the same; Provided, such rules
and by-laws shall not be inconsistent with the constitution
and laws of this state and of the United States.

Trustees pow-
ers.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That the trustees of the said
school, or a majority of them, are hereby authorised and
empowered to elect, at their discretion, some suitable per-
son as teacher of said school, and to pay him such salary
as they may deem right, and proper, and to remove him at
pleasure.

An Act to Divorce William W. Vickars and Rebecca
Vickars, of Dorchester County.

Passed Feb 22;

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the marriage of William W. Vickarsand
Rebecca Vickars, of Dorchester county, heretofore solem-
nized, be, and the same is hereby declared to be, absolutely
and to all intents and purposes null and void, and the said
William W. Vickars and Rebecca Vickars are declared to
be divorced a vinculo matrimonii.

Divorced.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said William W.
Vickars shall not, by virtue of his marriage with the said
Rebecca Vickars, be in any way entitled to, and that the
said William W. Vickars shall not be authorised to have
or claim any right or interest in, the estate real, personal
or mixed, of the said Rebecca Vickars, whether required
