On motion by Mr. Blake,
Leave was granted to the Baltimore city Senators to report
a bill relative to the appointment of Magistrates to Police
Stations, by the Police Commissioners of Baltimore city.
On motion by Mr. Brattan, it was
Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal, that Honorable
Andrew J. Crawford is detained from his seat on account of
sickness.
On motion by Mr. Blake,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Blake, Brewer and Steiner,
to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to regulate the sale and
inspection of oils for illuminating purposes," repealing an
Act passed at January Session, 1872, chapter 135, entitled
"An Act to repeal section 2 of chapter 266," entitled "An
Act to regulate the manufacture and sale of oils for illumina-
ting purposes" passed January Session, 1870, and to re-en-
act the same, so as to read as follows : "Also an Act passed
January Session, 1870, chapter 266," entitled "An Act to
regulate the manufacture and sale of oils for illuminating
purposes," and substituting in lieu of these Acts the follow-
ing.
On motion by Mr. Brattan,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to report a bill to repeal the 23d section of Article
LXXV. of the Code of Public General Laws, and re-enact the
same with amendments, so that attachment proceedings may
be amended.
Mr. Walsh presented the petition of Sebastain Kurtz and
other citizens of Havre de Grace, Maryland, asking the pas-
sage of a law in regard to horses and carriages kept at livery
in said town.
Which was read and referred to Messrs. Walsh, Lloyd and
Longwell.
Mr. Denson, from a Select Committee, reported favorably
the House bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 872 of Art-
icle IV. of the Code of Public Local Laws," title "City of
Baltimore," relating to the limits of direct taxation within
said city, and to re-enact the same with amendments.
