Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, reported

The House bill entitled an Act to provide for the general
valuation and assessment of property in this State,

Being on second reading,

Mr. Davis submitted the following amendments :

Strike out the "1st section," insert the following,

"Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That all property, real, personal and mixed of all
kind and description whatever, in this State, shall be liable
to valuation and assessment, and be chargeable with taxes
according to the provisions of this Act.

Mr. Denson moved a call of the Senate.

Mr. Fields moved that further proceedings under the call
be dispensed with.

Which was adopted.

The question being taken upon the amendment submitted
by Mr. Davis.
