lars, to provide means for the introduction of the waters of
the Gunpowder River, shall not be submitted by the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore, to the voters of Baltimore city,
for their adoption or rejection, until the election shall be held,
and the question of annexation shall have been finally settled
and determined in the manner provided for in this Act, and
if it should be determined in favor of annexation, then the
Acts hereinbefore mentioned, shall be submitted to the voters
residing in the territory annexed, at the same time that they
are submitted to the balance of the voters of Baltimore city,
for their adoption or rejection."

tuted," to the word "Assembly," inclusive.

Mr. Davis submitted the following amendment:

Section B, line 9, strike out all after the word "provided,"
to the end of the section.

Mr. Davis submitted the following amendment:
Add the following, to be known as "section —."

"And be it enacted, That if any person shall give or be-
stow, or directly or indirectly, offer or promise any gift or
reward to secure the vote or ballot of any person for or
against extension, at the special election provided by this
Act, the person so offending, shall be guilty of a misde-
meanor, and upon conviction before the Court having juris-
diction, where the offence may have been committed, shall
be fined, at the discretion of the Court, a sum not less than
five hundred nor more than one thousand dollars, and suffer
such imprisonment as the Court may adjudge, not less than
one year, and such other penalties as are prescribed by the
Constitution; one-half of the fine to go to the informer."
