Mr. Stevens moved to reconsider the vote by which the
amendment to section 4, line 2, was adopted.

Mr. Stevens submitted an amendment to the amendment,
as follows:

After the word "Commissioners," insert "or a majority of
them, upon notice given."

The question recurring upon the amendment to section 4,
line 2, as amended,

Mr. Davis submitted the following amendment:

Section 4, after the word "State," at the end of line 16,
add "and the said Mayor and City Council shall pay the said
Commissioners five dollars per day for the time they may be
engaged in the discharge of their duties, and shall pay all
other expenses that may be incurred in carrying out the pro-
visions of this Act."

Which was adopted.

Mr. Davis submitted the following amendment:

Amend by adding a new section, to be known as "Section
9," between the words "and provided," insert

"Be it enacted, That all Acts which have or may pass the
General Assembly of Maryland, at the present Session of the
same, viz :

"An. Act entitled an Act to authorize the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore, to fund the floating debt of the city of
Baltimore, as authorized or existing on the 31st day of Octo-
ber, 1873, to an amount not exceeding two millions of dol-
lars; and an Act entitled an Act supplementary to an Act
entitled an Act to authorize the Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore, to issue the bonds of the city of Baltimore, to an
amount not exceeding two millions five hundred thousand
dollars, for the purpose of providing means for the improve-
ment of Jones' Falls, within the limits of the city of Balti-
more, passed at the January Session of 1870, chapter 113,
and to provide for an additional issue of bonds not to exceed
in amount one million five hundred thousand dollars; and
an Act entitled an Act to authorize the Mayor and City Coun-
cil of Baltimore, to issue the bonds of the city of Baltimore,
to an amount not exceeding the sum of four millions of dol-
