On motion by Mr. Billingsley,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Chesapeake
Bay and its Tributaries, (hereafter to be appointed,) to intro-
duce a bill to repeal the Oysters Laws of the State, and to re-
enact the same with, amendments.

On motion by Mr. Stevens,

Leave was granted to the Senators from Baltimore City, to
report a bill to create a Fire and Police Boat for the Harbor
of the City of Baltimore.

On motion by Mr. Brattan,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, (hereafter to be appointed,) to report a bill to prevent
Public Executions in this State,

On motion by Mr. Davis,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Davis, Blake and Stevens, to
introduce a bill to regulate the hours of Labor in the State of
Maryland.

On motion by Mr. Davis,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, (hereafter to be appointed,) to report a bill for the Pro-
tection of Travellers on the Highways of this State.

Mr. Denson, on the part of the Committee appointed to re-
commend Chaplains to the Senate, submitted the following
report:

The Special Committee on Chaplains for the Senate, beg
leave to report, that they have selected Rev. Win. H. D.
Harper, Rev. Father Oberley, Rev. Mr. Southgate and Rev.
Mr. Henderson.

Which was read.

Mr. Tuck moved to amend the report by adding the name
of Rev, Mr. Hedges, of Annapolis.
