82 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 23,

On motion by Mr. Longwell, it was

Ordered, That it be entered upon the Journal, that the
.Senator from Harford, was absent yesterday in the city of
Baltimore, attending to important business, for his con-
stituents.

On motion by Mr. McCulloh,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to report
a bill entitled ''An Act to amend the charter of the city of Cum-
berland by repealing sections 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29,
30, 34, 37, 42, 43, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, 53, 54, 55 and 56, of
Article I. of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled
Allegany county, sub-title 'Cumberland,' also sub-sections 3,
4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17, of chapter
121, of the Session of 1864, by amending and re-enacting
certain sections.

Mr. Tuck, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to which had been referred the House bill entitled "An Act
to repeal sections 323 and 324 of Article XI. of the Code of
Public Local Laws, for Frederick county, and to re-enact the
same with amendments,"

Reported said bill with the following amendment:

Amend by adding the words "or wild cat" after, the word
lynx, line 4, of section 323, by adding the words "or wild
cat," after the word lynx, line 7, section 323.

Which were adopted,

And said bill as amended was read the second time.

Mr. Stevens, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to which had been referred House bill entitled "An Act
granting the assent of the General Assembly of Maryland,
to legacy granted to Trinity P. E. Church, in the city of
Baltimore, by John H. Hugg, late of said city deceased."

Reported favorably thereon,

And said bill was read the second time.

Mr. Stevens, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported a bill entitled "An Act relating to Building Associa-
tions, Homestead Associations and Land Companies, in this
State,"

Which was read the first time.

Mr..Claggett, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported favorably, a bill entitled "An Act to repeal an Act
