Mr. Fields moved that the bill lie over, and be made the
order of the day for Tuesday, the 31st, at 12 o'clock.

Which, was adopted.

Pending the consideration of the House bill in relation to
Kent Island Narrows,

At 11.20, P. M., the Senate adjourned.

TUESDAY, March 31st, 1874.

The Senate met at 10.30, A. M.

Prayer by Rev. Mr. Hedges.

Present at roll call the following Senators :

Messrs. President, Aydelott, Blake, Brewer, Brattan, Craw-
ford, Claggett, Davis, Denson, Earle, Fields, Getty, Knight,
Longwell, Lloyd, Mudd, McCulloh, Phelps, Stevens, Stei-
ner, Spencer, Suit, Tuck, Williams, Walsh—25.

The proceedings of yesterday were read and approved.

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, reported favor-
ably on

The House bill entitled an Act to authorize the Comptrol-
ler to settle the claim of Lawrence D. Deitz.

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Carroll, from a Select Committee, reported favorably
on

The House bill entitled an Act to regulate the building of
Fences, in Howard county.

Which was read the second time.
