Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to amend Article LXIX.
of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Officers," by
adding thereto additional sections,

Being on second reading,

Mr. Claggett submitted the following amendment:

Section 16, line 3, strike out "five," and insert "four Com-
mittee Clerks."

Which was adopted.

Mr. Stevens submitted the following amendment:

Section 16, line 48, strike out "four dollars," and insert
"five dollars."

Which was adopted.

Mr. Steiner submitted the following amendment:

Section 21, line 1, strike out "Reading Clerk and Door-
keeper."

Which was rejected.

Said bill was then read the second time and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

The Senate bill relating to the House of Reformation and
Instruction for Colored Children, in Prince George's county,

Being on second reading,

Mr. Longwell submitted the following amendment:

Strike out the 1st section and insert the following in lieu
thereof:

''Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of fifteen thousand dollars, be and the
same is hereby appropriated for the use and benefit of the
House of Reformation and Instruction for Colored Children,
situated in Prince George's county, to be applied to the erec-
tion of one additional family building, and other necessary
shops and out-houses, to be used in connection with said in-
stitution."
