Mr. Stevens submitted the following amendment:

Amend the first section by adding thereto at the end of said
section the following words : "But the capital stock of every
bank incorporated by this State, shall remain subject to all
other taxes imposed, or to be imposed for State or municipal
purposes, upon capital stock of corporations incorporated un-
der the laws of this State."

Which was adopted.

Said bill was then read the second time and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to revive and extend the
Act of January Session, 1872, chapter 420, entitled an Act
to revive, re-enact and amend certain sections of the Act of
January Session, 1852, chapter 316, entitled an Act to au-
thorize the appointment of a Commissioner to take testimony;
to provide for the recording of copies of wills and other
papers, of which the originals were lost, by the burning of
the Court House, in Dorchester county, and to remedy as far
as practicable the evils likely to ensue from the destruction of
the records of said county,

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays as
follows:

AFFIRMATIVE.

Aydelott, McCulloh,

Brewer, Phelps,

Brattan, Steiner,

Claggett, Suit,

Earle, Tuck,

Knight, Williams,

Longwell, Walsh—16.

NEGATIVE;—None.
Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates.

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, reported
favorably

The Senate bill relating to "Revenue and Taxes."
Which was read the first time.

Mr. Brattan presented the Senate Resolutions, in relation
to the Eastern Shore Rail Road Company.

Which was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
