Senate bill entitled ''An Act to limit the hours of labor in
this State for minors under sixteen years of age.''

Being under consideration,
On motion by Mr. Davis,
The Senate adjourned.

THURSDAY, January 22nd, 1874.

The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.
Prayer by Rev. W. H. D. Harper.
Present at roll-call the following Senators:

Messrs. President, Aydelotte, Blake, Brewer, Billingsley,
Brattan, Crawford, Claggett, Davis, Earle, Fields, Getty,
Knight, Longwell, Lloyd, Mudd, McCulloh, Phelps, Stevens,
Steiner, Spencer, Suit, Tuck—23.

Mr. Brewer presented the petition of Otho W. Beall ask-
ing to be placed upon the pension list.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Also,

The protest from the Board of Trustees of the Rockville
Academy, against the passage of any law by which the acade-
mies of the State may be superseded by High Schools.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Educa-
tion.

Mr. Blake presented the petition of Zipporah Waggoner,
widow of George Waggoner, Elizabeth Lucas, widow of Pe-
ter B. Lucas, Sarah Gray, widow of John Gray, asking to be
placed on the pension rolls.

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Pensions.
