The Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Pocomoke
Steamboat Company, and

The report was adopted.
On motion by Mr. Stevens,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal Article XXI., sec-
tion 7 of an Act entitled an Act to create State Banking In-
stitutions, and to enable the several Banks of this State (State
and National) to avail of the provisions thereof, passed at
January Session, 1870, chapter 206, and to impose a tax on
the issue of notes put in circulation by State Banking Insti-
tutions.

On motion by Mr. Brattan,

The Committee on Judicial Proceedings were discharged
from further consideration of sundry petitions praying that
the law may be so changed as to abolish the death penalty.

Mr. Steiner, from a Select Committee, reported favorably
on

The House bill entitled an Act to amend section 18 of an
Act passed at January Session, 1868, chapter 195, entitled
an Act to incorporate the Emmittsburg Rail Road Company.

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Crawford, from a Select Committee, reported favora-
bly on

The House bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 189 of
the Acts of 1872, relating to Salisbury Academy, and re-en-
act the same with amendments.

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Longwell, from a, Select Committee, reported favora-
bly on

The House bill entitled an Act to amend further the Act
entitled an Act to incorporate the Baltimore and Liberty
Turnpike Company in Carroll county, passed at January Ses-
sion, 1866, and as amended by the Act of 1868, chapter 151,
changing the name of said corporation to that of the Balti-
more, Carroll and Liberty Turnpike Road Company, of Car-
roll and Frederick counties, and to repeal sections 2 and 3 of
the Act of 1870, chapter 232, and to re-enact the said sec-
tions 2 and 3 with amendments.
