covery of debts due from married women,

Was considered and laid over until Wednesday next.
Leave of absence was granted to Mr. Earle until Tnesday

next.

The Senate at 10,45 o'clock, adjourned.

The proceedings of yesterday were read and approved.
The President laid before the Senate the following commu-
nication :

MY DEAR SIR :—I have the honor, on behalf of the Mary-
land Inebriate Asylum, to invite you, and through you, the
Senate of Maryland, to attend a meeting in behalf of the
Asylum, to be held at Ford's Grand Opera House on Sunday
afternoon next, at 3 o'clock.

Addresses will be delivered by the Rev. Thomas Guard and
others.

Seats will be reserved on the stage for the Governor and
members of the General Assembly.

Trusting it may be the pleasure of the Senate to attend,
