The Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the Trustees,
of the Providence Methodist Protestant Church, in Carroll
county, to sell and dispose of certain property therein men-
tioned.

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The Senate bill entitled an Act for the better security of
creditors,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Mr. Billingsley, from the Committee, on Education reported

The Senate bill entitled an Act in relation to the Public
Schools.

Which was read the first time.

The Senate bill entitled an Act supplemental to an Act
passed March 2nd, 1874, entitled an Act to provide for the
defense of Officers of Registration and Judges of Election,
who are or may be indicted in the United States Court
for acts done in performance of duties imposed by the
Constitution and laws of this State which acts are alleged to
be in violation of the Acts of Congress approved May 31st,
1870, entitled an Act to enforce the rights of citizens of the
United States to vote in the several States of this Union and
for other purposes,

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays
follows:
