Which was adopted.

On motion by Mr. Fields,
The Journal of yesterday was then read.

Mr. Earle presented the petition of Mrs. Hannah J. Hackett,
widow 'of James Hackett, a soldier of the war of 1812, asking
to be restored to the pension rolls.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pensions.

Mr. Walsh presented the petition of Joseph M. Simmons,
Charles A. Boyd and three hundred other citizens of Havre-
de-Grace and Cecil county, Maryland, for amendments to an
Act passed at January Session, 1872, chapter 54, in reference
to Wild-Fowl.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Chesa-
peake Bay and its Tributaries.

Mr. Tuck presented the following message to the House of
Delegates:

BY THE SENATE,

January 21st, 1874.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We name as tellers on the part of the Senate Messrs. Tuck
and Blake, to join such gentlemen as may be appointed by
your Honorable Body to count the ballots, and report the re-
sult of the vote for Treasurer.

Messrs. Barnes Compton and Henry H. Goldsborough have
been put in nomination on the part of the Senate.

AUGUSTUS GASSAWAY,

Secretary.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of Del-
egates.

Mr. Blake submitted the following message to the House
of Delegates:

BY THE SENATE,

January 21st, 1874,
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We suggest, with the concurrence of your Honorable Body,
that the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the
House of Delegates, be requested to address a note to the
Hon. William Pinkney Whyte, informing him of his elec-
