tide XXI. of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Wash-
ington County," sub-title "Sheriff," and to amend and re-
enact the same.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Williams, from the Committee on Corporations,
reported favorably

The House bill entitled a supplement to an Act to incorpo-
rate the Santa Clara Mining Association of Baltimore.

Which was read the second time.

On motion by Mr. Claggett,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Claggett, Crawford and Phelps,
to introduce a bill entitled an Act authorizing the County
Commissioners of Washington county to purchase certain
parcels of ground lying contiguous to the Court House in said
county, for the use of the said Court House.

On motion by Mr. Getty,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Getty, Aydelott and Craw-
ford, to report a bill entitled an Act regulating fences in
Garrett county.

Mr. Claggett, from the Select Committee, reported

The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 16 of the
Act passed at December Session, 1845, chapter 37, entitled
an Act to incorporate the Mutual Insurance Company of
Washington county, and amend and re-enact the said 16th
section, and to repeal the 10th section of the Act passed at
the January Session, 1870, &c.

Which was read the first time.
On motion by Mr. Stevens,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, to report a bill entitled an Act to prevent a failure of
justice by a continuance of causes.

On motion by Mr. Stevens,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, to report a bill entitled an Act to regulate the practice
in taking bills of exception, and to facilitate trials.

On motion by Mr. Stevens,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, to report a bill entitled an Act to repeal section three
of Article XCIII. of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Testamentary Law," sub-title "Account," and to re-enact
the same with amendments.
