So it appeared that the Hon. William Pinkney Whyte re-
ceived a majority of the whole number of votes cast in the
Senate.

Mr. Davis, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported a bill, entitled "An Act to authorize the transfer of
certain Land Records and Extracts of Deeds from the office of
the Clerk of the Court of Appeals, to the office of the Land
Office, to repeal section 40 of Article XVIII, of the Code of
