Delegates, Governor Whyte and the Hon. Governor Groome
having retired,

On motion by Mr. Tuck,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to report a bill entitled an Act to repeal an Act entitled
an Act to add an additional section to Article XXIX. of the
Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Courts" providing
for rendering judgment for the damages awarded by the jury
upon the ratification of injunctions for condemning lands,
and to re-enact the same with amendments, and to add addi-
tional sections to the said Article of the Code.

Mr. Stevens submitted the following message to the House
of Delegates:

By THE SENATE,

March 4th, 1874.

Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We have received your message in relation to the ''Police
Bill," asking a Committee of Conference, in relation thereto.
We have appointed on the part of the Senate Messrs. Stevens
and Blake in compliance with your message.

By order,

AUGUSTUS GASSAWAY,

Secretary,

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of
Delegates.

On motion by Mr. Stevens, it was

Ordered, That the bill relating to "Usury" be made the
order of the day for Thursday, March 12, 1874, at 12 o'clock.

On motion by Mr. Earle,

The bill on Immigration was made the order of the day
for Wednesday next.

Mr. Tuck called up the Senate bill entitled an Act to pro-
vide for the appointmnet of a Treasurer and a more economi-
cal collection of taxes in Anne Arundel county, and to repeal
section 195 of Article II. of the Code of Public Local Laws
for said county, and to enact the following in lieu thereof.

Said bill being on second reading,

Mr. Tuck moved to strike out "four" in sub-section B, and
insert "three."

Which was adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was ordered to be engrossed.
