Mr. Steiner presented the petition of R. B. Sorrell, S. W.
Chase and others, colored citizens, asking the passage of such
laws as may secure equal rights to all, without regard to
race or color, in conformity to the 13th, 14th and 15th Amend-
ments to the Constitution of the United States.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judi-
cial Proceedings.

Mr. Brattan presented the petition of Thomas H. Bock,
and one hundred and ten other citizens of Somerset county,
asking for certain changes in the Oyster Law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Chesa-
peake Bay and its Tributaries.

Mr. Davis presented the petition of Harriet Smith and
twenty-five others, in favor of Local Option.

Also,

The petition of Thomas Wright, Stephen. C. Magraw and
twenty other citizens of Baltimore county, in favor of Local
Option.

Also,

The petition of Serena McCullough and twenty-five others,
in favor of Local Option.

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Temperance.

Mr. Stevens, from the Committee on Corporations, reported
favorably

The Senate bill entitled an Act to continue in force the
Act to incorporate the Maryland Sunday School Union.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Davis, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported favorably

The Senate bill entitled an Act to provide an additional
section to Article II. of the Code of Public General Laws,
title Attorneys."

Which were read the first time.

Mr. Blake, from a Select Committee, reported

The House bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 287, of
the Laws passed at the January Session, 1870, and to repeal
sections 810, 811 and 816, of Article IV. of the Code of Pub-
lic Local Laws of Baltimore city, sub-title "Police," and to
re-enact the following in lieu thereof;
