On motion by Mr. Blake,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to report a bill relative to Inspection of Lumber in the
city of Baltimore.

On motion by Mr. Earle,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to report
a bill to be entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money to
pay the claim of Thomas C. Basshor & Co., for work done
and materials furnished in the room of the President of the
Senate.

Mr. Walsh presented the petition of Jonathan Ambler, F.
M. Hawkins, James K. Keech and others, citizens of Harford
county, for a charter for a Turnpike Company from the
White House to Stockton.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Walsh, Lloyd and
Longwell.

On motion by Mr. Tuck,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to report
a bill entitled an Act to provide for the sale of the State's
interest in the Annapolis and Elk Ridge Rail Road Com-
pany.

Mr. Tuck presented the petition of citizens of the counties
bordering on the Patuxent for the protection of fish in that
river.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Chesa-
peake Bay and its Tributaries.

Mr. Stevens presented the petition of H. Clay Dallam,
and one hundred and seventy-two other citizens of Baltimore
in favor of closing the barber shops on Sunday.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial

Proceedings.

Also,

The petition of sixteen thousand, five hundred and five
citizens of Baltimore city in favor of closing the barber shops
on Sunday.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

On motion by Mr. Williams,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to report a bill to repeal section 44 of Article XXIV of
the Code of Public General Laws.
