The Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the purchase,
construction and furnishing of suitable grounds and build-
ings for the State Normal School.

Which was read the first time, and

On motion by Mr. Stevens,
Referred to the Committee on Finance.

Mr. Lloyd, from the Committee on Chesapeake Bay and
its Tributaries, reported

The Senate bill entitled an Act to alter and amend chapter
103 of the Acts of 1872, regulating the measurement of Oys-
ters in the ports of Crisfield and the city of Baltimore.

Which was read the first time.
On motion by Mr. Fields,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Fields, Billingsley and
Phelps to report a bill to authorize the County Commissioners
of Caroline county, to borrow money.

On motion by Mr. Tuck,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Chesapeake Bay
and its Tributaries to report a bill entitled an Act for the
protection of fish in the Patuxent River.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to declare the sanction of
the General Assembly of Maryland, to the bequest of John
H. Yingling, late of the city of Westminster, deceased, to the
Trustees of the Methodist Protestant Church of the city of
Westminster, Carroll county. State of Maryland,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The Senate bill entitled au Act to repeal sections 1 and 7
of Article XXXVI. of the Code of Public General Laws,
title "Estrays and vessels Adrift" and to re-enact the same
with amendments,

Being on second reading,

Mr. Fields submitted the following amendment:

Amend by adding "and that the provisions of this bill
shall not apply to Caroline, Wicomico, Garrett and Mont-
gomery counties.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Davis submitted the following amendment:

Strike out all after the word "the" on the 4th line of the
1st sub-section and insert the words "second section of this
Article."
