the State.

Desiring through you to express to the General Assembly
my high appreciation of the distinguished honor it has done
me, in selecting me to fill the responsible and exalted posi-
tion of Chief Magistrate of my native State; and with senti-
ments of high esteem for you personally,

To Messrs. Edward Lloyd and William M. Knight, Com-
mittee on the part of the Senate, and Messrs. Andrew K.
Stake, Andrew Annan and Lewis Turner, Jr., Committee on
the part of the House of Delegates.

Mr. Stevens submitted the following message to the
House of Delegates:

BY THE SENATE,

March 2nd, 1874.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We herewith return Senate bill entitled an Act to amend
the Act of 1853, chapter 441, entitled an Act to continue the
corporate existence of the several Banking Institutions there-
in mentioned, which had but two readings in the Senate be-
fore it was sent over to your Honorable Body, the second
reading being had thereof on January 29th, 1874, and en-
dorsed on bill through cover, as "Read a third time and
passed by yeas aad nays."

The Senate has given the bill a third reading this day, and
passed the same by yeas and nays.

We respectfully ask your Honorable Body to pass the said
bill again.

Secretary.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of Dele-
gates.

Mr. Lloyd, from the Committee on Chesapeake Bay and its
Tributaries, reported favorably on

The House bill entitled an Act to add additional sections
to Article XLI. of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Fish and Fisheries," sub-title "Patuxent."

Which was read the second time.
Mr. Stevens, from the Committee on Education, reported
