Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pensions.

Mr. Tuck presented the petition of Peter W. Grain, asking
to be refunded fifty dollars improperly and illegally exacted
from him and paid into the Treasury.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance.

Also,

The petition of citizens of Anne Arundel county, asking
the confirmation of the Act of the Session of 1872, author-
izing a subscription to the Baltimore and Drum Point Rail
Road by Anne Arundel county.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Tuck, Earle and
Brattan.

On motion by Mr. Brattan,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to report a bill to repeal the 7th section of Article X. of
the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Attachments,"
and to re-enact the same with amendments.

Also,

Leave to report a bill for the better security of creditors.
On motion by Davis,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
report a bill to amend the charter of the Hannis Distillery
Company.

On motion by Mr. Spencer, it was

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal, that the ab-
sence of the Senator from Calvert county has been caused by
sickness.

On motion by Mr. Stevens,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill entitled an Act to continue in force the Act to
incorporate the Maryland Sunday School Union.

Also,

Leave to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings to intro-
duce a bill entitled an Act to repeal section 3 of Article XCIII.,
title "Testamentary Law," and to re-enact the same with
amendments.

On motion by Mr. Lloyd,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Chesapeake Bay
and its Tributaries to report a bill entitled an Act to allow
the hauling of seines within the waters of Talbot county, du-
ring certain months of the year,
