Sec. 2, line 11, on page 8 of prilled bill, strike out the
words "two hundred and thirty-fifth."

Mr. Brattan submitted. the following amendment:

Strikeout "sec. 8," and substitute the following in lieu
thereof, viz: "That it shall not be lawful for the said com-
pany to issue bonds, with, or without coupons at a greater
rate of interest than 6 per cent, per annum, and the Legis-
lature hereby reserves to itself the right to repeal, amend,
change or alter the foregoing charter, or any part thereof at
pleasure." "SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage."

Pending the consideration of the said amendments,
On motion by Mr. Stevens,

The bill was postponed, and referred to Committee on Ju-
dicial Procedings.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 282, section
1, of the Act of 1862, in so much thereof, as relates to weigh-
ers of hay and straw at Canton, in Baltimore county,

Being on second reading,

On motion by Mr. Brattan,

Was referred to Committee on Finance.

Mr. Davis moved to reconsider the vote, by which the said
bill was referred to the Committee of Finance,

Which was adopted.

The question recurring upon the engrossment of the bill,

Mr. Brattan renewed the motion to refer the bill to the
Committee on Finance,

Upon the question being taken,
It was determined in the negative,

The question again recurring upon the engrossment of the
bill,

It was determined in the affirmative.

Senate bill entitled au Act to amend an Act, entitled an
Act to incorporate the National Co-operation Business Agen-
cy Company, chapter 199 of the Acts of the General Assem--
bly of Maryland, passed 31st day of March, 1870, to change the
name and title thereof to that of the National Business Ad-
juster Company, to reduce the capital stock thereof, and to
revise, re-enact and continue in force, the provisions of the
said Act,
