to lay water-mains throughout said town, to buy the neces-
sary appurtenances for the protection of property, and to issue
bonds for that purpose,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act, to repeal the Act of Assembly,
1858, chapter 13, passed February 10th, 1858, entitled an
Act amendatory of the Act of Assembly, passed at December
Session, 1834, chapter 87, entitled an Act to incorporate the
Trustees of Education Fund of the Baltimore Annual Con-
ference, and to re-enact the same with amendments,

Being on second reading,

Mr. Stevens submitted the following amendment:

Sec—, line—, insert "Baltimore Annual Conference," in-
stead of "Annual Assembly."

Which was adopted.

Said bill as amended, was read the second, time and order-
ed to be engrossed for a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of the
Annapolis Savings Institution of Annapolis city, a corpora-
tion incorporated under the General Incorporation Act of
1868, chapter 471, and to add to the powers thereby con-
ferred,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal the 5th section of the
Act of the General Assembly of Maryland, passed January
Session, 1856, chapter 109, entitled an Act to amend an Act,
entitled an Act to incorporate the Fremont Savings Institu-
tion of Baltimore, by allowing said Institution the privilege
embraced under the Act entitled an Act to continue the cor-
porate existence of the several Banking institutions therein
mentioned, passed at January Session, 1853, chapter" 441,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to authorise the State Line and
Juniata, now Baltimore, Phildaelphia and New York Rail-
road Company to construct and operate their railroad within
the limits of this State,

Being on second reading,

Mr. Stevens submitted the following amendment;
