52. The treasurer shall, at the expiration of the

term of his office, deliver up the office to his suc-

cessor, and all papers and books relative thereto,

|
except the books containing taxes uncollected by
|
 
|
him, and for which his bond is responsible ; and that
|
 
|
he be allowed twelve months after the expiration of
|
 
|
his term of office, to make settlements and complete
|
 
|
the collection of all State and county taxes that may
|
 
|
be in his hands uncollected, and to pay over to the
|
 
|
Treasurer of the State of Maryland, the amount of
|
 
|
State tax due by him, and to the order of the County
|
 
|
Commissioners of Prince George county, the county
|
 
|
tax that may then be due by him; nothing herein
|
 
|
contained shall be so construed as to deprive the said
|
 
|
county treasurer from the benefit of section forty-
|
 
|
six, of article twenty-nine, of the Code of Public
|
 
|
General Laws, under head of relief to sheriffs and
|
 
|
collectors.
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts of
|
 
|
acts inconsistent with this act, be and the same are
|
Repealed,
|
hereby repealed.
|
 
|
SEC. 3: And be it enacted, That this act shall take
|
 
|
effect from the date of its passage.
