CHAPTER 504.

AN ACT to regulate the manufacture and sale of
|
 
|
oils for illuminating purposes, repealing an act
|
 
|
passed January session, eighteen hundred and
|
 
|
seventy-two, chapter one hundred and thirty-five,
|
 
|
entitled an acf to repeal section two, of chap-
|
 
|
ter two hundred and sixty-six, entitled " an act
|
 
|
to regulate the manufacture and sale of oils for
|
 
|
illuminating purposes," passed January, eighteen
|
 
|
hundred and seventy, and to re-enact the same
|
 
|
so as to read as follows : also an act passed Janu-
|
 
|
ary session, eighteen hundred and seventy, chap-
|
 
|
ter two hundred and sixty-six entitled " an act to
|
 
|
regulate the manufacture and sale of oils for il-
|
 
|
luminating purposes," and substituting in lieu of
|
 
|
these acts the following :
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
 
|
Maryland, That the act passed January session, eigh-
|

teen hundred and seventy-two, chapter one hundred

and .thirtj'-five, entitled " an act to repeal section two
|
 
|
of chapter two hundred and sixty-six, entitled ' an
|
 
|
act to regulate the manufacture and sale of oils for
|
 
|
illuminating purposes,' " passed January session,
eighteen hundred and seventy, and to re-enact the
|
 
|
same so as to read as follows : and also the act passed
|
 
|
January session, eighteen hundred and eeventy,
|
 
|
chapter two hundred and sixty-six, entitled " an act
|
 
|
to regulate the manufacture and sale of oils for illu-
|
 
|
minating purposes," be and they are hereby repealed,
|

and the following are substituted in lieu of these

acts:
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all oils or fluids
|
 
|
manufactured from petroleum orits products, used for
|

illuminating purposes in this State, which shall be
manufactured or kept for sale therein, shall be re-
|
 
|
quired to stand a fire-test of one hundred and ten
|
 
|
degrees Fahrenheit before it shall burn, to be as-
|
 
|
certained by Tagliabue's coal oil tester, or some other
|
 
|
instrument constructed upon the same principle.
