LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Appropriation.

CHAPTER TWELVE, SECTION EIGHT. The annual sum

 

of ten thousand five hundred dollars, is hereby ap-

 

propriated for the support of the Normal School, to

 

be paid in quarterly instalments by the Treasurer, on

 

the warrant of the Comptroller, to the State Board of

 

Education, and to be applied to the payment of

 

teachers salaries, and the purchase of educational

 

apparatus, for the salary of the Principal of the Nor-

 

mal School, his travelling expenses in attending

 

meetings of teachers, institutes and superintending-

 

the schools throughout the State, and for such as-

 

sistance as may be required in the Normal School

 

during his absence on duty, and for text books, sta-

 

tionery, fuel, light, and other incidental expenses of

 

the school.

 

CHAPTER THIRTEEN, SECTION ONE. A teachers' in-

stitute to continue five days, shall be held in each

 

county once a year, and the county examiner shall

 

be present, and shall give normal instruction to the

 

teachers each day.

of School Trustees, to be appointed by the Board of

 

County School Commissioners, and shall be subject

 

to the same laws for its government, and furnish in-

 

struction in the same branches as the schools for

 

white children.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take

 

effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 465.
AN ACT to incorporate the town of Sharptown,

 

Wicomico county.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Incorporated

Maryland, That the citizens of the town of Sharptown

 

in Wicomico county, are hereby constituted a body
