CHAPTER 420.

AN ACT to prevent swine from running at large in
|
 
|
the streets, lanes and alleys, of Knoxville, in Fred-
|
 
|
erick county.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
 
|
Maryland, That it shall not be lawful for any person

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if any person

gether with the name of the owner, to a justice of

the peace in Peterville district of Frederick county,

the said justice of the peace shall issue a summons

to the owner or owners thereof, to appear before him

to answer in a plea of trespass, and if it shall appear

upon satisfactory proof, that the swine of such person
|
 
|
or persons charged in the summons, has been found
|
 
|
within the limits prescribed in the first section of
this act, the justice of the peace shall render judg-

ment against the owner or owners thereof, in the sum

prescribed in the first section of this act, together
|
 
|
with all costs incurred, to be collected as other small
|
 
|
debts.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That it shall be lawful for

any person or persons finding swine running at large
|
