tees of the Synod of the Potomac of the Reformed Church in

reported unfavorably on

The Senate bill entitled "An Act to add an additional sec-
tion to Article XVIII. of the Code of Public General Laws,
title 'Clerks of Courts,' authorizing said Clerks to perform
by Deputy any duty required of them by law."

Which was read and laid over.

Mr. Brattan, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported unfavorably on

The bill entitled "An Act to repeal an Act passed at Jan-
uary Session, 1870, chapter 295, entitled an Act to repeal
section 35 of Article XVIII. of the Code of Public General
Laws relating to 'Clerks of Courts,' and to re-enact the same
with amendments, and to repeal section 35 of Article XVIII.
of the Code of Public General Laws, which requires an oath
of the Sheriff in returning a panel of Jurors."

Further consideration thereof was. postponed.

On motion by Mr. Phelps, it was

Ordered, That the Committee on Finance, be and they are
hereby requested to inquire into the expediency and propri-
ety of reporting a bill providing that all interest accruing on
money deposited by the proper authorities in bank or other
monied institutions belonging to the State, shall be paid over
to the Treasurer, and disbursed by him in the payment of the
current expenses of the State.

Also,

Ordered, That the Committee on Finance inquire into the
