CHAPTER 394.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments,
|
 
|
section twenty-nine, of chapter, thirty-six, of the
|
 
|
acts of eighteen hundred and seventy-two, entitled,
|
 
|
" an act to add a new article to the Code of Pub-
|
 
|
lic General Laws, regulating the inspection of
|
 
|
tobacco.
|
 
|
WHEREAS, By section twenty-nine, chapter thirty-
|
 
|
six, of the acts of eighteen hundred and seventy-two,
|
 
|
entitled, " an act to add a new article to the Code of
|
 
|
Public General Laws, regulating the inspection of
|
 
|
tobacco, " it was enacted, that every hogshead of
|
 
|
tobacco of this State that shall remain in any ware-
|
 
|
house after being sold by the grower, for a longer
|

period than twelve months, and any hogshead of to-
|
 
|
bacco, of the growth of any other state, whether sold
|
 
|
or unsold, remaining in the warehouse a longer
|
 
|
period than twelve months, the inspector of such
|
 
|
warehouse shall charge the owner thereof, the sum.
|
 
|
of fifteen cents per hogshead storage, for each month
|
 
|
after the said twelve months ; and
|
 
|
WHEREAS, Said enactment, being detrimental to
|
 
|
the interest of the tobacco growers of this State, by
|

not furnishing sufficient protection, especially to the

|
tobacco of Maryland growth, therefore —
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
Repealed and,
re-enacted.
