port a bill entitled "An Act to incorporate the Lonaconing
Bank of Lonaconing, Maryland."

On motion by Mr. Stevens,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to repeal section
231 of Article XCIII. of the Code of Public General Laws,
title 'Testamentary Law," sub-title 'Orphans' Court,' and to
re-enact the same with amendments."

Mr. Stevens, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported favorably on

The House bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 36 of
Public General Laws, entitled 'Attachments,' and to re-enact
the same with amendments, increasing the amount of the
exemption in said section mentioned."

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Stevens, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported

The Senate bill entitled "Au Act to amend Article XLV.
of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to 'Husband
and Wife/ by adding a new section thereto,"

With the following amendment:

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Section 1, line 6, after the word "estate" insert "any
goods, chattels, lands, tenements, rights and credits."

Line 8, after the word "debts" insert "with the right to
appear in person or by attorney and to defend as in other

suits."

Which were adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

others, for the passage of a law authorizing the sale of the
Methodist Protestant Church in Clearspring, Washington
