The petition of John Noon and twenty-six other citizens,
for the passage of a bill for the formation of a new county of
the adjacent parts of Allegany and Garrett counties.

Also,

The petition of James P. Kight and forty-four other citi-
zens, for the passage of a bill for the formation of anew coun-
ty of the adjacent parts of Allegany and Garrett counties.

Which were read and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

Mr. Tuck presented the petition of sundry citizens of Anne
Arundel county, praying for authority for the County Com-
missioners to build a bridge over Beard's Creek.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Tuck, Brattan and
Earle.

On motion by Mr. Blake, it was

Ordered, That the State Librarian furnish Erasers for the
use of the Senate and its officers.

Mr. Mudd presented the petition of Francis Thompson, of
Charles county, a soldier of the war of 1812, praying that
his name be placed upon the pension list.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pensions.
On motion by Mr. Getty,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to report
a bill authorizing the Commissioner of the Land Office to
have prepared for the use of the Land Office a map of those
portions of Garrett and Allegany counties which contain the
four thousand and odd fifty acre lots granted by the State of
Maryland to the officers and soldiers of the war of 1812, and
to appropriate a sum of money therefor.

Also,

Leave to the Committee on Finance to report a bill to ap-
propriate a sum of money for the use of the Register of Wills
for Garrett county, out of the excess of fees paid into the
Treasury by the Clerks of the Courts and Register of Wills
for the counties of the State.

On motion by Mr. McCulloh,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to re-
