CHAPTER 375.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Trustees of
|
 
|
the Union Academy in Worcester county, to con-
|
 
|
vey and transfer all the property, both real and per-
|
.
|
sonal, belonging to said Trustees to the Board of
|
 
|
County School Commissioners, of Worcester coun-
|
 
|
ty, and also to authorize and empower the Board
|
 
|
of County School Commissioners of Worcester
|
 
|
county to sell certain real estate.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
 
|
Maryland, That the Trustees of Union Academy, in
|

Worcester county, be and they are hereby authorized
|
transfer

and empowered to convey and transfer all the prop-
|
 
|
erty, both real and personal, held by them in trust
|
 
|
for the said Academy, to the " Board of County
|
 
|
School Commissioners of Worcester county; " and
|
 
|
the President of the said Board of " the Trustees of
|
 
|
the Union Academy, " is hereby authorized and em-
|

powered to execute and deliver, in behalf of said
|
 
|
trustees, such conveyance and transfer of said prop-
|
 
|
erty as may be necessary for the purposes of this
|
 
|
act.

|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the " Board of County
|
 
|
School Commissioners of Worcester county, " is
|
 
|
hereby authorized and empowered to sell at public
|

sale to the highest bidder, on such terms as to them
|

may appear most advantageous to the public interest,
|
 
|
after the conveyance authorized by the first section
|
 
|
of this act is effected, a certain tract of land known
|
 
|
as the " Union Academy lot, '' which was conveyed
|
 
|
to the Trustees of Union Academy, by deed from
|
 
|
Robert H. Powell and wife, situated in Snow Hill in
|
 
|
Worcester county, and to convey the same to the
|
 
|
purchaser, and appropriate the money arising from
said sale towards erecting such building or buildings,
|
 
|
in connection with the High School at Snow Hill, in
|
 
|
said county, to be used for the purpose of said High
|
 
|
School, as may seem to them best for said purpose.
