CHAPTER 344.
|
 
|
AN ACT supplementary to an act passed at Jan-
|
 
|
uary session, eighteen hundred and seventy, chap-
|
 
|
ter one hundred and sixty-eight, entitled an
|
 
|
additional supplement to an act to incorporate the
|
 
|
Roman Catholic Congregation in Baltimore town,
|
 
|
passed November session, seventeen hundred and
|
 
|
ninety-five, chapter fifteen, to enable the said cor-
|
 
|
poration to purchase a new burial ground.
|
 
|
WHEREAS, by the act of the General Assembly,
|
 
|
passed at January session, eighteen hundred and
|

seventy, chapter one hundred and sixty-eight, the
|
 
|
Trustees of the Catholic Cathedral Church of Balti-
|
 
|
more, and their successors, were authorized and
|
 
|
empowered, in addition to the ground and promises
|
 
|
which the said corporation was authorized to pur-
|
 
|
chase and use as a burial ground, by the act of
|
 
|
eighteen hundred and fourteen, chapter two, and
|
 
|
eighteen hundred and forty-five, chapter three hun-
|
 
|
dred and eighty-four, to purchase, hold and use for
|
 
|
a burial ground attached to said church, any lands
|
 
|
and premises in Baltimore county not exceeding one
|
 
|
hundred acres; and —
|
 
|
WHEREAS, in part performance of the authority
|
 
|
and power conferred as aforesaid, said corporation
|

has purchased lands situated and King in Baltimore
|
 
|
county, on the northernmost side of the old Freder-
|
 
|
ick Road, and part of a tract of land called Bonnie
|
 
|
Brae; said lands containing sixty-four acres, one
|
 
|
rood and fifteen square "perches, and particularly
|
 
|
described by metes and bounds in a deed from
|
 
|
Charles H. McBlair and wife, to William Kennedy
|
 
|
and others, dated November the tenth, eighteen hun-
|
 
|
dred and sixty-nine, and recorded among the land
|
 
|
records of Baltimore county, in liber E. H. A., num-
|
 
|
ber sixty-four, folio three hundred and twenty-eight,
|
 
|
&c., and has expended, and is about further to expend
|
 
|
large sums of money in adapting the said lands to
|
 
|
the purposes of a cemetery ; and —

WHEREAS, it is proper that said corporation should
|
 
|
be encouraged in its laudable design, and that the.
|
