that when the Senate and House of Delegates adjourns to-
morrow, they stand adjourned until Tuesday, February 24th,
on account of the observance of Monday next as the Anniver-
sary of the birth-day of Washington,

egates,

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and deliv-
ered

The Senate bill entitled "Au Act supplementary to an Act
passed at January Session, 1867, chapter 247, entitled 'An
Act to establish and incorporate an Asylum for the Deaf and
Dumb,' and also an Act passed at January Session, 1868,
chapter 409, entitled 'An Act to amend and add additional
sections to the Act of 1867, chapter 247, and relating to the
Deaf and Dumb Asylum."

Endorsed "Passed by yeas and nays."

The House bill entitled "An Act to add a new Article to
the Code of Public Laws of Talbot county, to be entitled
'Sales of Spirituous or Fermented Liquors,' "

Being on third reading,
On motion by Mr. Tuck,

Was postponed, and made the order of the day for Wednes-
day, 25th instant.;

Mr. Earle submitted the following

JOINT RESOLUTIONS.

WHEREAS, By the Act of March the third, eighteen hun-
dred and seventy-one, the Congress of the United States did
recognize and approve the purpose to celebrate the Centennial
birth-day of the American Nation, by a Grand National and
International Exibition, which shall bring together for com-
parison and improvement the products of the soil, of the mine
and of the mechanic and artistic arts of other countries, as
well as of the different States of our own; and whereas, by
the provisions of that Act the same is directed to be a national
celebration, in which the people of the whole country should
participate, and in the language of the law "be held under
the auspices of the Government of the United States, in the
city of Philadelphia, in the year eighteen hundred and seven-
ty-six;" and whereas, the President of the United States, in
compliance with a further privision of said Act of Congress,
did, by his proclamation on the fourth day of July, eighteen
