The Sergeant-at-Arms was sent to notify absent Senators
that their presence was requested in the Senate Chamber.

On motion by Mr. Brewer,
Further proceedings under the call were suspended.

The Senate bill entitled "An Act to provide for the pay-
ment of a certain sum of money to Charles H. Gibson, State's
Attorney for Talbot county,"

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The Senate bill entitled "An Act to build and equip a Fire
and Police Boat for the harbor of the city of Baltimore, and
to appropriate a sum of money to pay the cost of the same,"

Being on second reading,

Mr. Stevens submitted the following amendment:

Line 2, after the word "Baltimore," insert "the President
of the Board of Trade."

Which was adopted.

Mr. Fields moved to postpone the further consideration of
the bill, and that it be made the order of the day for 12
o'clock, on Tuesday next.

Which was adopted.

The Senate bill entitled "An Act to amend the charter of
the Annapolis Savings' Institution of Annapolis city, a cor-
poration incorporated under the General Incorporation Act of
868, chapter 471, and to add to the powers thereby con-
ferred,"'

Being on second reading,

Mr. Tuck submitted the following amendment:

Insert in the 2d line, 1st section, after the word "minor,"
the words "who has not a guardian."

Which was adopted.

On motion by Mr. Davis,
The bill was ordered to lie over.

Mr. Stevens submitted the following message to the House
of Delegates:
