the district in which the killing took place.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That any person or
persons owning any dog male or female, known to
|
 
|
have killed any sheep, upon proof thereof before
|
 
|
any justice of the peace, the owner of said sheep
|
 
|
may collect from the owner of said dog or dogs as
|
 
|
other debts are collected, the sum of three dollars
|
 
|
and fifty cents for each and every sheep so killed.
|

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That the money col-
|
applied
|
lected under the provisions of this act, shall be
|
 
|
applied first to the payment of all necessary expenses
|
 
|
attending the collection thereof; secondly, that so
|
 
|
much of the residue as may have been collected from
|
 
|
white persons, shall be paid to the Board of County
|
 
|
School Commissioners of said county for school
|
 
|
purposes, to be expended under existing laws; and
|
 
|
that so much thereof as may have been collected
|
 
|
from colored persons, shall be paid over to the said
|
 
|
Board of County School Commissioners, to be
|
 
|
applied to the education of colored children of said
|
 
|
county, in such manner as to said Board of County
|
 
|
School Commissioners may seem best, or in such
|
 
|
manner as may hereafter be provided by law.

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
|
 
|
effect from the date of its passage.
