CHAPTER 326.
AN ACT to repeal section two hundred and ninety-
two of article twenty-one of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title " Washington county," sub-title
" Sheriff," and to amend and re-enact the same.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section two hundred and ninety-two	Repealed and
of article twenty-one of the Code of Public Local	re-enacted.
Laws, title " Washington county," sub-title " Sher-
iff, " be and the same is hereby repealed and re-
enacted and amended so as to read as follows:
292. The Sheriff of Washington county, shall be
entitled to fifty cents per day for keeping each pris-	Allowance for keeping
oner that may be confined in the jail of said county,
and shall be allowed for necessary fuel for the jail
and house attached thereto, such sum as the County
Commissioners of said county may deem right and
proper; and the County Commissioners of Washing-
ton county shall levy upon the assessable property of
Washington county, a sum sufficient to pay for keep-
ing the prisoners and for the necessary fuel aforesaid.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take	In force
effect from the date of its passage.
